Visiting church teams are the backbone of our mission. Without them, we wouldn’t exist.
Church teams fund, build and repair our facilities. They’ve built library and school buildings for Porvenir. They’ve built and repaired homes, and have provided other help for needy families in the community. They play with our kids and are part of their healing process. They help with our community outreach programs including Vacation Bible School and Feeding the Homeless in Ensenada.
In 2016, more of our teams included the Najeras (our Mexico Mission Directors) Wednesday afternoon feeding the homeless ministry into their trip plans. They feed about 120 homeless with lunches they pack for them.
Teams come from churches in the Northwest, Southwest, Midwest, South, Rocky Mountains and Baja California. Amazingly, when it’s time to go home, these teams consistently say they’ve received far more than they’ve given.
God bless them!
If you are thinking about bringing a mission team to Porvenir, we would love to have you. We have two guest houses (with full kitchens) which can house up to 40 people and can accommodate people with disabilities. We can also provide parking (and some hookups) for RVs.
